BernCo Sets New COVID Guidelines for County Facilities

County offices and facilities will continue requiring masking and social distancing guidelines for employees, vendors, and contractors at all county facilities.  The general public is not required to wear a mask but should observe social distancing while in county facilities.

While masks are not required, they are strongly encouraged.

The scheduled move of the county headquarters from One Civic Plaza to the new Bernalillo County @ Alvarado Square is directing the continuation of employee teleworking and remote working.  The county is currently developing a move-in schedule for county employees. The county has been granted a certificate of occupancy for Alvarado Square and an official public opening day has been set for Aug. 16. County departments that are currently open to the public or open through phone contact only, have staff present and working in county facilities.

The county will adhere to the following:

  • Vendors and contractors will be required to wear masks while in county facilities.
  • Meetings will be conducted virtually whenever possible.  When in-person meetings are necessary, social distancing of at least six feet will be observed at all times.
  • County employees that are equipped and directed to tele-work or work remotely will continue to do so

Law enforcement, firefighters and rescue personnel, 911 dispatch, the Metropolitan Detention Center and YSC will continue to work as normal.

While the move to Alvarado Square takes place, county services will continue as normal and as allowed by the current COVID-safe mandates.
