Mission Statement: 

Inclusion Services strives to insure that all residents with disabilities have the same opportunities to participate in all department programs and services as residents without disabilities.

The program will provide an inclusive environment that serves to foster everyone participating together.

Inclusion services will serve to increase public awareness of the various community resources and recreational programs available to people with disabilities.

Our goals and objectives are to give all residents of Bernalillo County, regardless of ability, the opportunity to participate in and experience the benefits of parks and recreation services and programs.

To increase community awareness and understanding of physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities.

Through effective leadership and training, department staff will continuously exhibit an inclusive and welcoming attitude towards all participants with disabilities.

To maintain a system which effectively identifies those participants who require reasonable accommodations and to make available those accommodations when feasible.

  • Pre-registration is required to obtain the Zoom login credentials.To register, please email Marnie at bospace@bernco.gov. Meet with Rachel Carson, who will be played by Ann Beyke. Rachel (1907-1964) was a marine biologist when few women dared to even tread water. Her early childhood was spent exploring nature in western Pennsylvania. She wrote the book Silent Spring in 1962, which revealed the damaging use of the chemical compound DDT. It was banned in the United States in 1972. Ann Beyke has performed in local film, theater, television, radio plays and as a voice-over artist for over 25 years.
