    Bosque Chile Festival – A celebration of food, art, and culture on the Rio Grande

    Join in the celebration of the chile harvest on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Admission is $5. Children 5 and under are free.

    This event will offer entertainment, kids’ activities, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, beer, wine, agricultural workshops, chef demonstrations and more.

    New this year is the Disc-It sponsored Chicharron Challenge that will feature both amateur and professional cooks and chefs frying up their own versions of this tasty piggy treat! Want to be a judge and pick the People’s Choice Winner? Stop by the information and merchandise booth to receive a golden ticket which is your entry ticket into the judging area. There are only 200 tickets available. The People’s Choice segment of the Chicharron Challenge will take place from 1 – 2 p.m. People’s Choice Judges should start lining up at 12:45 p.m. by the Torreon.

    Ristra Run

    The 5k and 10k fun runs for all ages begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center and follow the scenic Bosque Trail.

    After Aug. 7, participants must register on race day at the event, and the cost will be $40/person (check or cash only, no credit cards accepted). Event t-shirt not guaranteed.

    Packet pick-up on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 7:30 – 8 a.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
