South Valley Pride Day has been postponed and will be held on Sunday, Aug. 30. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has necessitated the changing of the date. The Aug. 30 date will still be dependent on the conditions later this summer regarding COVID-19 and the ability to have large gatherings.

“It’s my top priority to secure the health and safety of the South Valley community, especially during this public health crisis,” says District 2 County Commissioner Steven Michael Quezada. “To ensure we accomplish this, we have made the decision to postpone the event to a later date.”

The festivities will still begin with a parade at 11 a.m. followed by the fiesta activities from noon to 5 p.m. at Westside Community Center, 1250 Isleta Blvd. SW.
