Conserve water with a rain barrel from Bernalillo County!

Half of the water used by residences in Albuquerque goes to landscape irrigation. Collecting rainwater from your roof and using it to irrigate your landscaping conserves our water supply by reducing demand on our aquifer and the Rio Grande River. It also reduces the costs you pay for water.

The Bernalillo County Rain Barrel Program provides rain barrels to property owners in Bernalillo County who are not water customers of the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. There are two options available:

Two Free 55-Gallon Rain Barrels

One $80 100-Gallon Rain Barrel

Materials: Recycled plastic and virgin resin Materials: Virgin resin         
Features: Brass spigot; overflow hose and clamp;
secure, removable lid with screened inlet
Features: Brass spigot; overflow fitting; secure, removable lid;
removable basket strainer
Warranty: 2 years, excluding freeze damage                    Warranty: 1 year, excluding freeze damage

Participants also receive a Residential Water Audit and a Water Conservation Kit that includes a low-flow showerhead and faucet aerators. 

To apply, complete and submit a Rain Barrel Application.
