Atrisco Vista Boulevard Corridor Study Public Open House Scheduled

BernCo Public Works Division invites the community to an open house to discuss the Atrisco Vista Boulevard Corridor Study. The Atrisco Vista Boulevard Corridor project is a planning, engineering, and environmental study to examine potential routes to extend Atrisco Vista Boulevard north to Southern Boulevard in Sandoval County.

The public open house will be held, Wednesday, Dec. 5 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Paradise Hills Community Center, 5901 Paradise Blvd. NW.

The study will evaluate:

  • Enhancing the existing Atrisco Vista Boulevard roadway through shoulder-widening and safety improvements from Double Eagle II Road north to Paseo del Norte Boulevard.
  • Extending Atrisco Vista Boulevard to create a new roadway connection from Paseo del Norte Boulevard to Southern Boulevard.
  • Adding a multi-use trail for pedestrian and bikes throughout the entire project area.

The objective of the potential new roadway project will be to:

  • Provide better connections of the major roadways that serve southern Rio Rancho and northwest Albuquerque.
  • Improve access to developing areas and planned development in northwest Albuquerque and southwest Rio Rancho.
  • Provide an efficient roadway network that is attractive to businesses for locating new employment centers on the West Side.
  • Improve safety along the existing section of roadway.

For questions about this project, please call or email Richard Meadows, Bernalillo County project manager at (505) 848-1598 or rmeadows@bernco.com.
