Probate Judges Meet and Greet


The public is invited to attend a meet and greet event happening this Friday, Dec. 14 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Court of Wills, Estates and Probate, One Civic Plaza, 6th floor.

Both the current probate judge, the Honorable Willow Misty Parks and the incoming probate judge, Cristy Carbón-Gaul, will be at the event to engage with the community and share details about the workings of the Court of Wills, Estates and Probate.

“Serving Bernalillo County for the past eight years has been a professional and personal honor. I have confidence knowing that this office has succeeded in its mission of establishing efficient processes for the cases that are brought to us,” says Honorable Willow Misty Parks. “I am excited to transition this office into the talented and capable hands of incoming judge Cristy Carbón-Gaul.”

Honorable Willow Misty Parks accomplishments include:

  • Increasing the annual case workload by almost double, from an average of 600 to 1,100 cases, thus far, this year alone
  • Well-trained staff assists and caters to community’s needs to complete cases, two-thirds of incoming cases are not represented by attorney
  • Call in to schedule appointments resulting in shorter wait times
  • Online availability of 40-page probate packet for free download at www.bernco.gov
  • Increasing openness, accountability, and transparency

“I thank Judge Parks for her great service to our residents and to our county,” says incoming judge Cristy Carbón-Gaul. “I am looking forward to serving the residents of Bernalillo County.”
