The Metropolitan Detention Center is upgrading its inmate phone system. As of Nov. 1, Bernalillo County’s inmate phone service contract will switch over from its current provider, Securus, to the new provider, GTL.

Metropolitan Detention Center Launches New Video Visitation System

Beginning Oct. 18, 2019, inmates and their family and friends have a new way to conduct video visitation at the Metropolitan Detention Center. The entire facility has undergone an upgrade to the visitation system, installing new tablet monitors. The new tablet monitors replace the original video visitation system put in place when the facility opened back in 2003.

The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center and Yearout Energy unveiled the results of a comprehensive energy project at the facility.
