Why is this measure important?

Youth and family attendance rates for outpatient mental health counseling sessions is important to help provide stability in getting youth needs met to include therapeutic support as well as medication management if necessary.  The Children's Community Mental Health Clinic (CCMHC) staff make extra efforts to communicate and remind youth and families of counseling appointments to increase the attendance rate.  Research has shown that consistent attendance in counseling programs can reduce recidivism rates amongst delinquent youth and also reduce family stressors.
