At this event Bachechi Open Space will stay open past sunset to explore the wonders of the night sky with TAAS (The Albuquerque Astronomical Society). You’ll be able to view objects using member telescopes of all types and sizes. TAAS astronomers are eager to show off the objects of the season and answer any questions guests may have. Please bring warm layers for cool evening temps and a red headlamp or flashlight to preserve night vision for self and others.
Phil Fleming will present the TAAS Fabulous 50 Spring Session inside the Education Building at 6:00pm to acquaint the group with the stars, constellations and planets of the season, which visitors will be seeing as it darkens and observing begins. The Fabulous 50 is a set of four events spread across the region in a calendar year (one for each season) in which the beginner to astronomy learns to locate 50 of the most prominent night sky objects.
