    BernCo Board Recognizes Memorial Day

    The Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners recognized Monday, May 28, 2018 as Memorial Day to express everlasting gratitude to those brave men and women in the United States Armed Forces who have died in the service of our country, to give thanks to their families who have also made great sacrifices, and to urge all county residents to observe this day and give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy because of their service.

    Resource Re-entry Center: Thousands of Released Inmates to Benefit from Re-entry Support Every Year

    On May 22, 2018, Bernalillo County leaders officially opened the county’s new Resource Reentry Center [RRC], a first stop for individuals released from the Metropolitan Detention Center as they reintegrate into the community.

    Recent Trade Mission to Singapore

    Four New Mexico companies are excited about their recent participation at the 2018 Food and Hotel Asia Expo in Singapore. The trade mission, led by Bernalillo County Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins, was a partnership between the New Mexico Trade Alliance and the State of New Mexico’s Office of International Trade.

    Newest Behavioral Health Initiative Program Aims to Prevent Youth Homelessness

    On May 10 BernCo announced the Behavioral Health Initiative’s latest program - Youth Transitional Living Services. Bernalillo County presented New Day, YDI, Casa Q, and Serenity Mesa with a ‘big check’ for $800,000 to incorporate the program into their operations.

    County Commission Hires Special Counsel to Fight Opioid Drug Companies

    BernCo Commission Approves Purchase Agreement for Asian American Monument Public Art Sculpture

    On March 27 the County Commission, on a 4-0 vote, approved a motion authorizing the County Manager to approve an artwork purchase agreement with Cheryll Leo-Gwin and Stewart Wong, the creators of an Asian American Monument sculpture, "View from Gold Mountain" that will be located on the West side of the Second Judicial District Courthouse.

    Bernalillo County Seeking Public Input on Urban Open Space

    Bernalillo County is hosting the second in a series of community agriculture and open space workshops, in conjunction with the UNM CityLab, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. The workshop is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilson Middle School, 1138 Cardenas Dr., SE, near Gibson and San Mateo.
