County Offers Free Masks on Friday, May 22

Bernalillo County is offering free washable/reusable material facemasks at eight county facility locations on Friday, May 22 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Each commission district has 1,000 masks to distribute totaling 5,000 masks for the giveaway. All county commissioners have been invited to help distribute the masks at locations in their respective districts.

“Under Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s order, all people should be wearing masks in public,” says Bernalillo County Manager Julie Morgas Baca. “This will create protection for everyone as we approach the memorial holiday weekend.”

Mask distribution will take place at these eight locations:

  • Mountain View Community Center, 201 Prosperity Ave. SE
  • Paradise Hills Community Center, 5901 Paradise Hills Blvd. NW
  • Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center, 9800 Fourth St. NW
  • South Valley Multipurpose Center, 2008 Larrazolo Road SW
  • Vista Grande Community Center, 15 La Madera Road
  • Westside Community Center, 1250 Isleta Blvd. SW
  • Bernalillo County Atrium building, 6840 Second St., NW
  • CARE Campus, 5901 Zuni Road, SE

Any county resident is welcome to receive a mask, with a limit of one mask per person.

    • Adults 50 and over are welcome to sell their good on the first Friday of every month for a minimum $2 donation. Space is limited to the first 10 vendors, though, so reserve early. For more information or to reserve a table call (505) 873-6647 or (505) 288-0801.

    • The Bernalillo County Clerk's Office will begin mailing absentee ballots for the 2020 General Election to voters who have requested them on October 6, 2020. Voters are encouraged to complete the ballot in a timely fashion, insert it in the envelope, sign and enter last 4 digits under the privacy flap, and seal the envelope. Thereafter, the absentee ballot may be mailed (up until Oct. 27) or hand delivered to a Voting Convenience Center. More info: http://www.bernco.gov/clerk/absentee-voting.aspx

    • Early Voting (also known as In-person absentee voting) and Same Day Voter Registration will take place from October 6-16, 2020 at the Clerk's Annex (1500 Lomas Blvd NW) Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voters may vote in-person or drop off their completed absentee ballot. Same Day
