Pending no additional changes to the current public health orders, Bernalillo County’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department will be reopening fitness centers in the following community centers, by reservation only, beginning Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Mountain View Community Center
  • Raymond G Sanchez Community Center
  • South Valley Multipurpose Community Center
  • Vista Grande Community Center
  • Westside Community Center

Fitness centers will be closed during the holidays on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 and Friday, Jan. 1 2021.

PUBLIC FEES: Veterans, employees of the county, city public safety employees, and seniors 60+ are free of charge. All other public members $10 per month. $30 per month for fitness/lap swim pass.

VISTA GRANDE FEE SCHEDULE: Veterans, employees of the county, city public safety employees, and seniors 60+ are free of charge. Adults (18-59) can visit 20 times for $25 or pay $200 for a yearly fee. High school students can visit 15 times for $10 or pay $75 for a yearly fee. A guest day-pass is $2 a visit.

FEES FOR EMPLOYEES: Bernalillo County employees are allowed to use our facilities at no charge. Everyone must sign a waiver of liability. Part-time employees are eligible. Seasonal employees must be currently employed.

PLEASE NOTE: Anyone under age 18 must have their parent/guardian fill out their paperwork and must show their high school identification at the time of registration.

The class topics include bed set-up and sheet composting for soil fertility as well as making soil amendments, the types of mulches and which irrigation methods are well-suited for raised beds.
