    Welcome to the Mountain View Community Center!

    Our Bernalillo County Community Center is located at 201 Prosperity SE in Albuquerque's South Valley.

    We offer the following Programs:

    Youth Programs

    • Before School
      The before school program is on a first-come first-served basis and runs Monday - Friday. The fee is now $280 per child or $90 for nine weeks.

    • After School
      Servicing Mountain View and Adobe Acres Elementary Schools, El Camino Real Academy, and Harrison Middle School, the after school program is on a first-come first-served basis and runs Monday - Friday. The fee is now $425 per child or $135 for nine weeks.

    • Summer Recreation 
      The summer program is seven weeks long and for ages 5-14. The hours are 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. for $280. The cost drops to $160 for the summer after the fourth week of the program.

    Teen Programs

    • Open Recreation - air hockey, PlayStation and XBox games, computers, movie nights, field trips and open gym. Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. For more information, call the county's Sports Division at (505) 314-0415.
    • Ceramics - This is a beginning-level ceramics program for youth 8 - 14 years. Three to five items a month will be created, depending on size and completion. Wednesdays, 3 - 4:30 p.m. $15 for four weeks. 
    • High Spirit Dance - Tuesdays, 6 - 7:45 p.m. Call Peggy Salazar at (505) 831-3868 for information.
    • 4-H Club - Second Thursdays of the month, 6 - 8 p.m. Contact Kim Buckle at aces@nmsu.edu for more information.

    Adult Programs

    • Ceramics - Basic ceramics class offered for seniors and adults; an opportunity for recreation and socialization. Thursdays, 9 a.m. - noon. Call Barbara at (505) 314-0266 for more information.
    • Adult Ceramics - This is a beginning ceramics program. Three to five items a month will be created, depending on size and completion. Tuesdays, 6 - 8 p.m. $15 for four weeks.
    • Free Fitness Room - Want to get in shape? Come and check out our fitness room. Open to the public 18 years and older; those aged 12 - 17 years must be accompanied by an adult. Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
    • Free Saturday Open Fitness - Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • Open Gym - Please contact center for availability. Shoot some hoops or spend some free time playing in the gym, walking or running, or doing gymnastics.
    • Open Rec Basketball - Every Sunday from 7-8 p.m.

    All Events > Skate Night

    Skate Night
    On Oct. 18 everyone aged 5 and up is invited to Mountain View Community Center for a Skate Night from 6-8 p.m. The cost is just $5 per person, and it includes skates, although you can bring your own as well. Please remember to bring socks! Call (505) 314-0297 with any questions.

    • Plant Walk (9-11 a.m.) Take an easy stroll around the gardens and grounds of Bachechi Open Space and learn about native medicinal plants of our area that are most useful for our health and well-being. Discussion topics will include harvesting, herbal actions, preparations, cultivation, and plant ecology. The walk will be approximately 1.5 hours, and, if you would like, please bring note-taking materials. Grape Harvest (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.) Join us to celebrate the grape harvest. Help pick grapes fresh from the vines at Bachechi to make and then sample homemade grape juice.

    • Play, learn and explore with the entire family at Summer Family Fun Days at Bachechi Open Space! Each Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. come out for weekly crafts, outdoor activities and experiments that will deepen your discovery of the world.
