Getting a Passport Just Got a Whole Lot Easier!

The U.S. Department of State has designated the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office as a Passport Acceptance Agency. Our office is now accepting new passport applications Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Here is what you will need to complete the passport application process in our office:

  • Completed passport form (unsigned)
  • Passport photo; our office will take your photo for $15
  • A certified copy of your birth certificate
  • Your driver’s license or a state-issued identification card

*Application Fees must be paid by check or money order ONLY, and are made payable to the U.S. Department of State.
**Acceptance Fees can be paid by check, credit card, or cash, and are made payable to the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office.

Passport Renewals

You may mail in your renewal application yourself. You do not need to make an appointment at an acceptance facility.

  • On Election Day, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, there will be 10 voting convenience centers open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no same day voter registration nor voter registration updates on Election Day. The Runoff Election for City Council Districts 2 and 4 is required under the Top-Two Runoff Election rule which requires candidates for Albuquerque City Council to receive fifty percent or more of the votes cast for the office in question. If no candidate receives 50% of the votes, the two candidates who receive the highest number of votes automatically become the candidates for the runoff election.
