All are Invited to Commission Hart Stebbins' Monthly Luncheon

08/06/2019

Bernalillo County Commission Chair Maggie Hart Stebbins invites you to her next monthly neighborhood luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 21, noon-1 p.m. at McKinley Community Center, 3401 Monroe NE.

The speakers in August will be Ralph Fernandez, Chief of Corrections-MDC, and Pamela Acosta, Coordinator-Resource Reentry Center.

Chief Fernandez has nearly 24 years of experience in corrections. He was with the New Mexico Department of Corrections for 21 years, retiring as a captain of security. In 2016 he moved to MDC as a use-of-force consultant. He became Chief in November 2018.

The Resource Reentry Center officially opened June 12, 2018 as part of the Behavioral Health Initiative. It is the first stop for individuals released from MDC and is designed to help former inmates make the transition from jail back into society.

Pam Acosta, coordinator of the RRC, has 23 years of combined experience in Behavioral Health, Human & Community Services and Criminal Justice. She has been with BernCo for 7 years and has been with the Department of Behavioral Health since April 2019.

This is a Brown Bag lunch. You bring a sandwich and we will provide the beverages. An RSVP to jhartley@bernco.gov is appreciated but not required.
