Bernalillo County Extending Behavioral Health Peer Drop-In Services to Southwest Albuquerque, Central Library

08/19/2019

On Saturday, Aug. 17, BernCo Commissioner Quezada and City Councilor Peña hosted the grand opening of the newest; County Behavioral Health Initiative (BHI) funded Peer Drop-In Center. The partnership between Bernalillo County, the City of Albuquerque Public Libraries, and Albuquerque Center for Hope and Recovery (ACHR) is a milestone for the extension of services into Southwest Albuquerque. Starting today, the community will have access to many services offered at the Central & Unser library.

The services offered include: Peer Support, Group Peer Support, Journaling Group, Choice Recovery Path, Getting Ahead, Anxiety, Parenting, Pathways Navigation, and Job Development. These are just a handful of the services that ACHR is able to offer to the community. These programs are available to adults, in addition to young people ages 16-25.

“We are committed to providing these crucial social services to the Southwest community while working with other Behavioral Health Initiative Partners. I am amazed how we are continuing to expand services to different parts of Bernalillo County to ensure everybody has access to services,” said Commissioner Quezada.
